There are 150 pensioners under the constant patronage of volunteers of the Astana Zhastary youth resource center. However, during the quarantine, the number of elderly people who needed help increased.

“During the emergency, our volunteers provided assistance to almost all pensioners, veterans of the Great Patriotic War, veterans of the home front. Food baskets were delivered to them, medical masks were handed out for free, ”said Chingiz Tleulin, head of Astana Zhastary KSU.

“Many retirees, due to their physical capabilities, cannot fill out applications. Today we started from the Baikonyr region — there are many pensioners who need help. Our volunteers come to the address, according to the list provided by the organization for work with veterans, and fill out applications with the pensioners. After that, they are transferred to organizations that are already working out with the employment department, «Chingiz Tleulin said.
